Friends, family, colleagues and communities all over Australia came together yesterday to celebrate cultural diversity and community for Palms Together Day 2018.
The day was an opportunity to embrace the diversity that makes up the rich fabric of society, while raising awareness of the life-changing work of the communities our volunteers are working in around the world.
At Palms Australia’s own event in Sydney, guests shared dishes and stories from Malaysia, South Africa, Indonesia, China, France, Portugal, The Netherlands, Wales, Croatia, New Zealand, Vietnam, Thailand, and of course Australia. Guests kicked off the afternoon by bringing their palms together to connect with each guest through handshakes, high-fives and Namaste greetings, representing the same human connection Palms Australia’s volunteers create across the globe.
If you didn’t get around to hosting your own event on the 20th, it’s not too late! Anyone can host their own Palms Together Day event at a date that suits them. Visit the Palms Together Day page on our website to find out more and register your event.
