Awards: Join Palms Australia President Benjamin Oh in acknowledging those who have acted in solidarity by cooperating across cultures in order to achieve a just, sustainable, interdependent and peaceful world free of poverty.
Keynote Address: Palms Patron, Dr José Ramos Horta (Nobel Peace Prize Laureate and President Timor-Leste 2007-2012) will call on those present to advocate in their Australian Families, Community Organisations, Workplaces, Churches and Clubs to continue the good work begun by Australians in Timor Leste. His message will identify how we now might assist to create opportunity for those in greatest need particularly in the remote communities.
Response: Palms Patron, Rev. Gary Stone, Deacon Australian Defence Force and a founder of Friends and Partners with East Timor, will respond and call for support from the floor for particular ways the call to action can be undertaken to achieve the outcomes sought by Dr Ramos-Horta.
The evening will include a three course dinner accompanied by a selection of wines, music and cultural entertainment, plus the presentation of Palms Solidarity Awards acknowledging those whose work has demonstrated true solidarity with communities in need.
