Palms Australia will host its inaugural Solidarity Awards and Fundraising Dinner on 16th October 2012 at Doltone House, a very special venue overlooking the world-famous Harbour Bridge.
It will be a memorable night of appreciation, inspiration, entertainment and surprises. Join us to celebrate Palms’ achievements over 51 years, acknowledge some everyday Australians, hear how lives have changed and how developing communities have been empowered and been inspired by the work of Palms global volunteers.
The evening’s highlight will be Palms’ Patron, His Excellency, Dr José Ramos-Horta who will speak of the direct request he put to Palms Australia: to assist the people of Timor-Leste meet the challenges of malnutrition, access to education and water management. You will have the opportunity to establish or re-invigorate your partnership with Palms Australia to build self-reliance for those with least opportunity.
The evening will include a delicious three course dinner accompanied by a selection of wines, music and cultural entertainment, plus words of inspiration from our Patron, Deacon Gary Stone and the presentation of Palms Solidarity Awards to those who have significantly demonstrated ongoing global solidarity through their actions.
Ticket sales will cover the cost of hosting this special event and surplus proceeds raised will assist Palms in placing skilled Australians in remote communities to help develop their essential services.
