Coastal Connections: A Palms Reunion

October 25

Sixty-five years ago the first Australians went overseas with Palms, at the invitation of communities who had asked for help with work they were already doing. Since then more than 1,500 people have gone where they were invited, to share their skills alongside colleagues across the Pacific, Asia and Africa.

For those who would like to walk, we will meet at 1pm at Bondi Beach and make our way to Tamarama through Sculpture by the Sea. A coastline covered in sculpture will feel familiar to anyone who spent time on an island.

For those who would rather simply sit down with old friends, come to St Anne’s, North Bondi from 3pm for afternoon tea. Bring a plate. During the afternoon we will share the best of Stories from the Field from thirty years of Palms Post, alongside photographs from the archive.

Mass will be celebrated at St Anne’s at 5pm, where we will remember Palms volunteers and partners who have died.

For any questions please email palms@palms.org.au or ring 0422 472 567.

Getting here: road closures and clearways are in place around Tamarama and Bondi Road during Sculpture by the Sea. Please come by public transport if you can, and let us know if you need help arranging a lift.
